Description
The De Armer Disrupter RE 50-28 is modular and recoilless. It is powered by an electrically initiated 0.5 calibre Power Cartridge and features a 28mm barrel. The RE 50-28 can be deployed either close up to the target in the conventional way or with a stand off. The purpose of the stand off capability is to significantly reduce the potential danger to a Bomb Technician who is manually placing the Disrupter, or a robotic vehicle which is carrying it. The RE 50-28 is designed to project fluid, frangible or solid projectiles with a mass of 100g.
The RE 50-28 combines accuracy, recoilless operation and ease of deployment. The totally balanced annular compensator system is a key feature eliminating recoil and enhancing accuracy. This feature removes the danger of collateral damage from recoil and enables the equipment to be considerably lighter in weight because no extra mass is required to reduce recoil.
